Simitis Architecture Studio strives to create elegant and thoughtful design with every project. We see architecture as a fundamental element in shaping daily life. As a result, we believe our work should be an expression of its place and the people who will experience it and share it with the world around them.
Key to this is understanding our clients and their goals. We are collaborative, approachable, and love the process of getting to know them. We value excited teammates, and love hearing about a “vision” for the project or helping to find one! We’re deep thinkers and enjoy puzzling through the various aspects of a project to find practical solutions that feel both natural and surprising.
Because we work at a variety of scales, we’ve become skilled at seeing through complexity, filtering out distractions and finding the simple path forward. We are experts at navigating zoning and permitting requirements and have been through numerous special review processes in the cities and towns where we work.
Based out of our Harvard Square office, we work locally and regionally with projects throughout the Boston area and beyond, including Connecticut and the New York suburbs. Over the last 25 years, we have developed extensive contacts throughout the design and construction community in Boston and maintain an active local presence through both our projects and involvement in city committees and professional organizations. Principal Matt Simitis, a Massachusetts native, attended Holy Cross College and studied architecture at MIT.
